Yesterday, I was in St. Augustine, FL, and happened to run into a little restaurant called 'Five Guys Burgers and Fries.' Never one to pass up a good hamburger opportunity, I decided to try it out......without knowing what would follow. After one bite, I reached a higher state of 'hamburgerness'- like Siddartha attaining Nirvana, in a moment there was only me and hamburger in this universe.

They advertise that their beef is never frozen and 100% fresh and they use Idaho potatoes for french fries fried in peanut oil- and it shows through. Their burgers come in two sizes- the 'little' ones are composed of one patty and 'regulars' are made up of two. The chain started out in Washington, D.C., and now has restaurants almost all over half of the country. Be warned though, you won't find carb friendly burgers here, this is an old-fashioned style American burger restaurant.
