Ana Carolina Reston, 21, died on Tuesday in a Sao Paulo hospital from a generalized infection caused by anorexia, an eating disorder in which sufferers obsessively deprive themselves of food in pursuit of an ultra-slim look.
Reston weighed only 88 pounds (40 kg) and was about 5 feet 8 inches tall (1.72 meters) tall. Doctors consider this weight normal for a 12-year-old girl no more than about 5 feet (1.5 meters) tall.

Nike announced today that in its new system Nike+iPod its shoes will wirelessly communicate with your iPod. The systems details are still under wraps but the shoes will "talk" to your iPod telling your shoe how long you ran. The system will cost $29 and be available in stores in two months. Nike+iPod works seamlessly with the new Nano's and will not only tell you long you ran but also pace time and calories burned recorded in a chip in the shoes which will transmit the information to the screen of the iPod.
