Gators advance to Sweet 16

The Florida Gators have advanced to the Sweet 16 in the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2000 when they reached the finals, losing to Michigan State.  Coming off of winning the SEC Title for the second straight season, the Gators have been one of the most exciting and dominating teams so far in the tourney, beating South Alabama and UW-Milwaukee both by over 20 points.  Their next game is Friday night at 9:40pm against Georgetown.  They must beware however, because Georgetown is in the best conference, the Big East, and defeated #1 seed Duke earlier this year.  One of the biggest stars so far has been sophomore center Joakim Noah (pictured left), who scored 17 points in their last victory.  Corey Brewer has played just as strong, scoring 23 against UWM.  With a win, the Gators will take on either Villanova or Boston College in the Elite Eight.  (Sidenote:  Florida lost to Villanova in the second round last year; however, top experts have picked UF over Villanova this year).
