Pascal Dangin: Master Retoucher

Who is Pascal Dangin?  He is the retoucher for stars.  Pretty he master that professionally photoshops fashion photos for editorial.  His aid is so high demand, for his techincal and as well as his taste of what is visually appealing in photography.  Majority of well known photographer such as Annie Leibovitz, Steven Meisel, Craig McDean and more will not allow one of their images to be published with it passing the hands of Dangin's studio.

I mentioned the Dove ad campaign that proudly featured lumpier-than-usual “real women” in their undergarments. It turned out that it was a Dangin job. “Do you know how much retouching was on that?” he asked. “But it was great to do, a challenge, to keep everyone’s skin and faces showing the mileage but not looking unattractive.”

If you are interested in Photoshop or Photography or the business of graphics the New Yorker article on Pascal Dangin is a great read.

Schweppes Burst - Commercial

Very picturesque commercial using an ultra slow camera, which takes about 10,000 frames per second, to allow us to view water ballons slowly bursting.

Adobe Illustrator 88

When it comes to adobe products I am pretty much a geek about them, and this infomercial funny looking, the music and the hair are great.

Inhabitat

So, I've just discovered a pretty cool architecture blog named Inhabitat. Taken directly from their website, Inhabitat is a weblog devoted to the future of design, tracking the innovations in technology, practices and materials that are pushing architecture and home design towards a smarter and more sustainable future. Above is a rendering of The Phantom Eco-House by Diller-Scofidio + Renfro , who actually did a lecture here at UF for us arch students. So take a look at Inhabitat .

"Excuse me, is this a work of art?"

"Excuse me, is this a work of art?" is an intervention in contemporary art museums. The project is a commentary about the confusion and sometimes the absurdity of conceptual art. The first stage of the project was made at the MoMA in New York in April 2007. Found via Wooster Collective

The tower will be 50 meters taller than the CN Tower in Canada and replace the radio tower already on the site broadcasting Japan's radio and primary television stations with a considerable amount of improved clarity.
